LynnMcRae2    Hi, that’s me, Lynn, to the left. I am a collector of things and of facts.

[The] delight in things of little use but much importance to the eye and mind is almost solely a human trait. With the exception of the crow and the pack rat, man is about the only collecting animal … psychiatrists tell us that collectors never go insane. — Evelyn Marie Stuart

I love information, and I find the more I learn the more I want to know. Chasing facts can be like Lewis Carroll’s descent into a rabbit hole, as each leads to more and morer.

This site is a place for me to share my topics of research, currently around art. Though I have been an information professional for many years, I’m rather too eclectic to fashion myself a scholar, but rather more like this:

Research is formalized curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose. — Zora Neale Hurston

I can poke and pry with the best of them, and I hope the results will be useful.

The castle above is the McRae clan castle, Eilean Donan, in the highlands of Scotland (if you saw the movie “The Highlander”, this was his ancestral home as well).  496e537bc7a4e416e05e63ac76469f22
